How to search for titles

Permission required: Create/view carts

There are a few ways to search for titles in Marketplace, and several options for sorting and filtering the results.

Searching

Before you search, use the Shop drop-down to select a lending model.

Quick search

You can use the search bar at the top of the page to find a specific title, author, series, or publisher.

In the Simultaneous Use (SU) section, you'll need to select an SU publisher first. From there, you can use the "Search within" bar at the top of the page to find titles in that catalog.

Advanced search

To search for specific criteria (such as subject, audience, price, and more), select Advanced search at the top of the page. From there, you can:

  • Use the check boxes at the top to search for a specific format.
  • Fill out the fields, as desired. Some fields will provide a list of options when you click on them.

Once you've entered all your criteria, select Search. Or, if you want to run the same search more than once, select Save.

Sorting and filtering search results

After you perform a search, you can:

  • Sort your results by popularity, street date, holds, title, price, and more, using the options near the top of the page.

Note: The Most popular at my site, Most popular across libraries, and Most popular by sales sort options refresh twice a week based on accumulated checkouts/holds or sales from the past ~90 days.
  • Filter your results by your holdings, format, lending model, language, audience, and more. Some filters allow you to set a range of values or exclude certain options.
When you select a filter, you can see how many results you'll have once you apply it.
  • Select the Edit search link to change your search criteria, then re-run or save your search.
