What are my payment options in Marketplace?

Permissions required: Purchase (to make purchases or check content credit in Marketplace), Manage invoices (to view or manage invoices)

When you purchase a cart in Marketplace, you can:

  • Apply available content credit
    • If you pay this way, the invoice will show the total of your purchase, the total credit used, the remaining amount due (if any), and your remaining credit balance (if any).
  • Pay by bank account (U.S. only)
  • Pay by credit card
  • Have OverDrive bill your account
    • For schools: Use this payment option if you need to pay by purchase order. When you do, enter your district's PO number into the "Internal purchase order ID" field. 
    • If you pay this way, the generated invoice can be found under Billing > View invoices in Marketplace but may take up to 5 days to appear.

Note: If you purchase a cart that contains preorder titles, you'll get an invoice for those titles when they reach their street dates and pay for them then. When available, content credit is automatically applied to invoices for preorder content.

All purchases in Marketplace generate an invoice for your records, even if you pay the entire amount owed at the time of purchase.

If you have an invoice with an amount due, you can:

  • Pay by credit card
  • Pay by bank account (U.S. only)
  • Pay by check
  • Pay by ACH (U.S. only) or wire
