Getting started with curation

Permission required: Curate

With curation, you can build lists (also called collections) of your titles and publish them to Libby, Sora, your OverDrive website, and the legacy OverDrive app (where available). There are two types of lists you can create:

  • Curated lists: hand-picked lists of titles, usually with a common theme
  • Automated lists: lists of titles based on criteria you set, like format and subject

Benefits of curation

Curation can help you:

  • Showcase your digital content
  • Boost circulations for highlighted titles
  • Promote your programming, like author visits, community reads, and local interests
  • Make browsing easier, so users can quickly find a title to check out

Creating lists

To get started, sign into OverDrive Marketplace, then click the Curate drop-down and select Standard curation. From there, you can create, edit, and publish lists.

If you create an automated list, Marketplace will generate a list for you based on criteria you select for audience, subject, format, language, and/or publisher.

If you create a curated list, you'll be able to hand-pick the titles in the list. Make sure your list is pinned, then search for titles to add.
