How to create and download custom MARC Express files
You can create a file of MARC Express records for your entire collection or for specific titles based on your selected criteria. Once your file is ready, you'll receive an email and will have 7 days to download the records.
To create and download custom MARC Express files:
- Sign into OverDrive Marketplace.
- In the Admin drop-down, select MARC Express deliveries.
- In the "MARC Express deliveries report options" window, click Cancel.
- Select Create custom file.
- Select either Create file or Create backdated file:
- Create file lets you search for specific titles by title ID, reserve ID, order ID, cart ID, or date range.
Note: You can find title IDs and reserve IDs by running a Purchase orders report, selecting a specific order name, and selecting Create worksheet. - Create backdated file creates a file with MARC Express records for all titles in your collection. (Advantage accounts can access MARC Express records for titles in the shared collection/consortium and their Advantage collection.)
- Create file lets you search for specific titles by title ID, reserve ID, order ID, cart ID, or date range.
- To create the file, enter your criteria (if you selected Create file) or confirm your account (if you selected Create backdated file).
Depending on the size of the file, it may take some time before it's ready to download. The "Creation status" field will say "In progress" when the file is being generated, and "Ready for download" when the file is complete.
Once a file is generated, it will be available to download for 7 days. To download a file, check the box next to it, then select Download file(s).
Notes:
- Expired titles are excluded from MARC Express files.
- Your files will include records for all non-expired titles that meet your selected criteria, even if they were weeded or included in past deliveries.
