How to select content access levels for newly purchased titles
When you purchase a cart in Marketplace:
- Newly purchased titles will have your default content access levels.
- Titles that you've purchased in the past will have the access levels that you previously assigned to them.
To confirm or change the access levels for newly purchased titles, follow the steps below. We recommend that you separate and name your carts by access level (e.g., "juvenile fiction") so you can easily assign the same access levels to all of the titles in your cart.
How to select content access levels for newly purchased titles
- After you purchase a cart, click the Content access levels page link on the "Purchase receipt" page.
- The Content access levels tool will display all of the titles you just purchased. From there:
- To edit the access levels for an individual title, click next to the title.
- To edit the access levels for a group of titles, check the box next to each title (or at the top of the column to select the whole page), then click Edit access levels in the top-right corner of the grid.
- For magazines, the access levels apply to all issues.
Note: If your cart has multiple pages, make sure to check the access levels on each page.
- In the pop-up window, edit the access levels for the selected titles, then click Confirm.
Note: Users can access titles at or below their access level. For example, titles you label "Young adult" will be available to "Young adult" and "Adult" users, but not "Juvenile" users.
If your school sets its own access levels
You can assign content access levels to titles when you purchase a cart.
Under "Content access levels" on the purchase confirmation page, select the content access level you want to assign.
Note: Users can access titles at or below their access level. For example, titles you label "Young adult" will be available to "Young adult" and "Adult" users, but not "Juvenile" users.
The access levels are assigned to all titles in your cart.
Note: Titles that you've purchased in the past will have the access levels you previously assigned to them.
If your school has access levels assigned automatically
Newly purchased titles are assigned access levels based on publisher-defined audiences.
Note: Titles that you've purchased in the past will have the access levels you previously assigned to them.
